PETALING JAYA, (Sept 5) — Strong winds and rough seas may hit certain areas from Saturday, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
Strong southwesterly winds of 40-50 kmph with waves up to 3.5 metres are expected to occur over the waters off Phuket from tomorrow until Monday.
In a First Category Warning issued on Friday, the department said the same condition is expected to occur over Condore, Reef North, Layang-layang, Palawan and Labuan from Sunday until Tuesday.
The strong winds and rough seas are dangerous to small craft, recreational sea activities and sea sports.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms occurring over waters off Samui, Labuan, Reef North, Condore, Palawan and Layang-Layang are expected to continue until this evening.
This condition may cause strong winds of up to 50 kmph and rough seas with waves up to 3.5 metres, and dangerous to small boats.
