Liow, who is also Transport Minister, said there could be extremists who were taking the opportunity to destabilise Malaysia which was now moving towards becoming greater nation.
“Malaysia is not a base for militant training, not even a place for them. We are a country of harmony and unity. Unite and fight all the way and ensure that these extremists are countered,” he told reporters when met at the launching of MH370 Tribute Photo Exhibition here, Sunday.
The photo exhibition was launched by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
Liow was asked to comment on allegations that Malaysia had become a base for militant training following the news that five Malaysians were currently wanted by the police to assist in investigations pertaining to militant activities.
“It is important to continue to be a country of moderation. It is important to be cautious and we cannot take things for granted,” he said. — BERNAMA
