PASIR GUDANG, (Feb 16) — Johor police recovered a TV3 journalist’s car at a house in Kempas early today – three days after it was reported stolen from the victim’s house in Klang, Selangor.
A police team from Johor Baharu (north) seized the Volkswagen Passat belong to Datuk Karam Singh Walia in a raid about 2am, and detained three men to facilitate investigations. Initial investigations have indicated the suspects, aged 36, 37 and 39, specialised in burglary and car-jacking. “One of the suspects was already on the police ‘wanted list’, while another tested positive for drugs,” said Johor police chief Senior DCP Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff. He was speaking to reporters during a joint shooting exercise between members of the press and the police at a shooting range in the Seri Alam police headquarters here today. The police also found two other stolen cars and items at the house in Kempas. “We believe the suspects worked with accomplices (at large). Meanwhile, the three will be handed over to the Selangor police for further action,” said Mohd Mokhtar. On Feb 13, Karam’s house in Taman Sri Andalas in Klang was broken into and his car and other valuables taken. — BERNAMA
