LAHAD DATU, (Feb 12) — They say that a picture tells a thousand words.
This rings true at a small gallery in Tanduo Camp, a Royal Malay Regiment security post, where there is a collection of photographs which have left an indelible mark for many peace-loving residents.
The photographs speak of a brutal but bloody Sulu terrorist intrusion, a grim reminder of the history of the area known as Kampung Tanduo, which used to be a sleepy hollow.
Kampung Tanduo gained notoriety as it was the site where a group of Sulu terrorists landed on Feb 12, exactly a year from today.
The village was then converted into a camp on March 15, after security forces regained its control from the terrorists.
Tanduo Camp is among security posts under the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESScom) which operates in Gugusan Felda Sahabat and Gugusan Tanjung Labian. — BERNAMA
