KOTA KINABALU, (Jan 30 ) — The Sabah Road Transport Department (RTD) has issued 368 summonses and 72 warning notices to road users for various offences in an integrated operations of several agencies throughout the state yesterday.
Sabah JPJ Principal Assistant Director, Abdul Rahman Zakaria, said in the three-hour operations which began at 8pm and conducted together with the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), 11 individuals were also tested positive for drugs.
Abdul Rahman said the operations involved all the RTD branches throughout Sabah.
“Of the summonses and notices that were issued, the Kota Kinabalu district alone recorded 106 summonses and 27 warning notices for various offences including for using tinted glasses and white lights (HID). Three individuals were also tested positive for drugs,” he told reporters after the operations last night.
According to Abdul Rahman, the operations in Kota Kinabalu involved 43 RTD staff and 13 AADK personnel, who checked 162 motorcycles and 484 other vehicles.
He said the warning notices were issued to motorists who were suspected and identified for various offences including modifying their vehicles which required further checks by the RTD.– BERNAMA
