SHAH ALAM, (June 26 ) — The police shot dead three men believed to be foreigners after they climbed over the fence of a house in Bukit Jelutong early Friday with the intention to stage a robbery.
Two of the three men, whose identities had yet to be established, had attacked the policemen with machetes in the 2 am incident, forcing the policemen to open fire, said Selangor CID chief Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah.
“All of them were shot dead on the spot. Their identities have yet to be established because they had no documents on them,” he told reporters.
Mohd Adnan said the owner of the house had notified the police after he saw three men climb over the fence of his house.
He said a bag belonging to the men contained several housebreaking tools, among them a screw-driver and a cutter, as well as three masks and three pairs of gloves.
An air pistol and two machetes were also found in the bag, he added.
Mohd Adnan said the three men were believed to have been involved in several robberies in Shah Alam, especially in Bukit Jelutong.
Police statistics showed that between January and yesterday, 20 cases of housebreaking were reported in Shah Alam and 12 of them had taken place in Bukit Jelutong.
“The police believe that the three men broke into the houses of their victims between 1 am and 5 am,” he said.– BERNAMA
