RANAU, (June 23) — Treated water supply in the district is expected to resume fully at 3pm today, said Sabah Water Department Engineer for Ranau Division, Anthony Jullah.
He said cleaning of the main raw water supply intake and removal of the heaps of logs brought down by the recent floods were actively being carried out currently.
He told Bernama that the heaps of timber logs were being moved to the Ranau Old Airport area with the agreement of the Ranau District Officer, Faimin Kamin.
The logs were carried down by the mudflood from the Mesilau River to the Liwagu River resulting in the water intake surface at the Bambangan Water Treatment Plant being immobilised since last week.
This resulted in the disruption of water supply to the Ranau district and the residents had to obtain water supply from tanker lorries and gravity water.
Anthony said delivery of water supply to the affected villages were still proceeding– BERNAMA
