KOTA KINABALU, ( Dec 24) — A total of 32 Filipinos and 18 Indonesians were arrested in Ops Nyah Bersepadu at Kampung Inanam Laut and Kampung Sinulihan Inanam, here last night.
Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP M Chandra said they were sent to a centralised lockup for detention and further investigation.
“In an eight hour operation which began at 11pm yesterday, nine individuals were also detained after they tested positive following a drug test administered on 89 illegal immigrants at the two villages,” he said in a statement here today.
Chandra said the operation will be carried out weekly to weed out illegal immigrants and scrap squatters in the city.
He added that the operation was carried out with the cooperation of other enforcement agencies involving seven officers and 200 personnel.– BERNAMA
