KUALA LUMPUR, (Feb 5 ) — Strong winds and rough seas over the waters off Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, East Johor, Sarawak, Sabah (Kudat, West Coast and Interior) and Labuan are expected to persist until Saturday.
In a statement here today, the Meteorological Department said north-easterly winds of 50 to 60km per hour (kmph) and waves as high as 4.5 metres were dangerous to shipping and beach activities, including fishing and ferry service.
The department said the coastal areas of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and East Johor were expected to face a rise in sea-level until Saturday.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms in the waters off Bunguran, Kuching and the Melaka Strait are expected to prevail until this evening.
The department also warned of strong winds and rough seas in the waters off Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang, Palawan, Samui, Tioman, Bunguran, Reef South, Kuching and Labuan until Saturday.– BERNAMA
