SEMPORNA, (Aug 24) — The current restructuring of the Marine Operations Force is to strengthen its system of ‘command and control’, said Director of the Internal Security and Public Order Department, Datuk Seri Salleh Mat Rasid.
The restructuring included the headquarters as well as regional, operations, and tactical bases.
“It also involves the restandardisation of patrol boat positioning and increasing the number of crew in strategic areas especially the Sabah east coast area in standardising operations to strengthen security in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone),” he said at a press conference while officiating the Semporna Fourth Regional Marine Operations Force Base, here today.
Also present was Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman and ESSCom Commander Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun. — BERNAMA
