KUALA LUMPUR, (Aug 2) — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Saturday denied the existence of a racket involved in selling of key holders, said to be installed with a device which enables criminals to trace the buyers (of the key holders).
Information on the key holders has gone viral on the social media, especially the Whatsapp application, stating that the buyers could be traced, for purpose of committing crime, like robbery, rape and murder.
Assistant chief of the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (Corporate Communications), ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad, said the police had not received any report on the matter.
“However, the public are advised to always be cautious of their surrounding and to avoid from opening opportunities for criminals to take advantage of them,” he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur. –BERNAMA
