KOTA KINABALU, (May 16) — The state National Anti drug Agency (AADK) screened 173 individuals in a three-hour integrated operation beginning at 8 pm last night at Jalan Indah Permai, Sepanggar near here.
State Anti drug Action Council (MTMD) chairman Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said 11 men aged between 18 and 35 tested positive for drugs.
“Such integrated operation will be continued particularly at identified hotspots,” she told reporters after the operation.
Jainab who is also state Community Development and Consumer Affairs minister urged the public to assist the authorities by channelling information should they be aware of any drug activities in their area.
In the same operation, the Road Transport department inspected 500 vehicles and issued 35 summonses and two warning notices, while the Environment department inspected 10 vehicles and imposed one compound and issued one warning notice.
Police issued 14 traffic summonses while the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board inspected eight vehicles and issued one warning notice.
Eighty-four enforcement personnel from eight agencies were involved in the operation led by AADK assistant officer Sarif Kamaludin. — BERNAMA
